All school subjects are important, but I believe that history is one of the most important ones.
To begin with, I believe that history should be taught to all students, as it is unacceptable for them not to know about the past of their country. To put it onother way, all students have to realize how their country was formed so it is essential that they be taught about the struggles, achievements and sacrifices of their ancestors.
What is more, history is significant as it makes the younger generation aware of the mistakes of the past and prevents them from repeating them in the future. There is a saying that ¨history repeats itself´. For this reason, the mishaps of the past should be used as examples for young people so that they do not fall into the same trap. In other words. history can prepare students for the difficult situations they may have to deal with in the future.
All in all, experience is the mother of wisdom. And as youth cannot experience the past at first hand, a good knowledge of history will provide them with the experience they need. This is why history is a subject that should always be taught in schools!
